Jumbo Stud Partitioning

Metal ‘Jumbo Stud’ partitioning has been around for many years and usually comprises a 50mm or 70mm stud – a metal framework to which plasterboard is secured – to create a non-load bearing dividing wall, enclosure or wall lining. Other sizes of studs are also available.

Jumbo Stud partitioning up to 150mm is often used for factory firewalls. Jumbo Stud partitions can be built to over 10 metres high and with a fire rating of up to 2 hours. A Jumbo Stud partition is an efficient and cost-effective solution to divide a warehouse or factory and where a firebreak is required. If circumstances change, simply dismantle, reposition, reconfigure or discard the wall. The extra width of the studwork provides greater stability where the partition wall is particularly high.

To give added rigidity, two layers of plasterboard on each face create a reinforcing, laminating effect. This is especially important where the installation might be subject to the effects of wind load.
