Managing continuity risks in the supply chain is a process that inevitably involves working with these third parties to plan, execute and monitor continuity strategies. Supply chain continuity management is an emerging discipline.
In 2004, Shaftec Components Limited. an auto-part component manufacturer and refurbisher in Birmingham contacted The Redditch Partitions & Storage Co. Ltd. to install a mezzanine floor and office partitioning, and over a period of several years, shelving systems and more partitioning.
As part of a multi-million-pound expansion programme, in January 2015 the business relocated its headquarters in a different part of Birmingham to new 42,000 sq. ft. premises to incorporate its re-manufacturing facilities and warehouse into one site.
Mr Robert Jones, Managing Director commented, “The two companies have built up a long-term working relationship based on honesty and integrity to the advantage of both parties. So, it made logical sense to continue the working relationship during and after the move”.
The Redditch Partitions & Storage Co. Ltd. installed three mezzanine floors with fire protection, organised appropriate approval for building regulations, steel partitioning, shelving and powered incline conveyors.
