How do you transform a decaying and neglected lavatory block into a shining example of a modern and functional washroom? The client, a West Midlands based manufacturer, presented The Redditch Partitions & Storage Co. Ltd. with the challenge to remodel an outmoded facility into a well-designed and practical amenity.
The project required a complete strip out of the existing plumbing and electrics and preparation of the fabric of the building before the makeover could begin.
The floor to ceiling refurbishment included ground works, alterations to walls and replacement UPVC windows. Internal walls were lined with hygienic cladding. Enclosures were created using metal stud partitioning. Plumbing services were connected to bespoke stainless steel sanitary ware and electrical cables provided power to light units and outlets. A First Aid room was created together with showers and ‘Integrated Plumbing System’ cubicles. In addition to a complete suspended ceiling installation, non-slip vinyl flooring and non-slip ceramic tiles were fitted. Heat recovery and ventilation & extraction equipment to meet CIBSEE regulations completed the redevelopment.
The client’s Project Manager commented, “The Redditch Partitions & Storage Co. Ltd. won the project in a competitive tender, providing a well thought out and sensibly priced proposal. They executed it with the minimum of disruption to our client’s operations. The result looks outstanding and functions well. This is the latest in a number of successful projects they have completed for us and we will be happy to recommend them to other clients”.
