Mineral Fibre Tiles

Generally, suspended ceilings sit within a modular grid. The most popular size is 600mm x 600mm although the 1200mm x 600mm module is an option. The ceiling grid system is suspended below the roof or upper floor space and hides the main building services such as water, power, computer cables and air-conditioning ducting. The modular construction provides simple and easy access to the ceiling void for inspection, maintenance and repairs. It also facilitates the installation of modular lighting and air conditioning vents and grills.

This ceiling system provides acoustic and thermal insulation together with fire resistant properties to reduce the spread of flames in the event of fire. Mineral fibre tiles are made from a combination of the following naturally occurring, processed and recycled materials in varying proportions depending upon the tile type; mineral wool, clay, perlite, cellulose and starch mixed in a water based process before being heat cured. They are then finished with a water based paint, or laminated scrim and paint. Mineral Fibre Ceiling Tiles come in a number of edge details, Square Edge, 24mm Tegular and 15mm Tegular. Tiles sit on either 24mm or 15mm ceiling grids and either sit flush within the grid (square edge) or drop down below the grid (tegular) to create a channel feature running between the tiles. Mineral Fibre Suspended Ceiling Tiles are the easiest and most cost effective method of improving the performance and appearance of an existing ceiling or soffit.
