UK subsidiary - Atlas Copco Limited, trading as Atlas Copco Medical - based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, appointed The Redditch Partitions & Storage Co. Ltd. because of their reputation for task dependent project management and being able to provide a turnkey solution, on time and within budget.

The scheme comprised dismantling existing pallet racking and long-span shelving to clear an area for a proposed mezzanine floor.

A mezzanine floor was constructed and fitted with two staircases, perimeter hand railing and a hinged pallet safety gate. An aperture was provided to enable a 7.5-metre tall vertical carousel storage unit to be installed, as part of the turnkey solution. The back of the adjacent pallet racking was clad with back-of-rack mesh to protect personnel working on the mezzanine. Building Regulation approval was obtained as part of the overall project.

Over 100 bays of bolt-free shelving complete with plastic storage bins were installed to maximise the additional space created by the mezzanine floor.
